I am working on a new ad for Living Spaces to help promote the Free Design Consultation service that we offer at all of our stores. I pulled the bright and vibrant colors from the Living Spaces logo to help this ad stand out yet feel cohesive. This ad is actually an update to a previous version that needed retooling. After talking with our marketing director Rene Interiano and several design consultants on the sales floor, we were able to develop new copy that help address the growing concerns of customers. These new additions included phrases that helped ease customers concerns about having a design professional help them. Rene's major concern was that we didn't want customers to feel intimated or pressured into buying something.

With that in mind I used a bright and vibrant color scheme to help ease customers into the process. The yellow and orange remind me of sunshine and happiness while the stark blue helps to develop contrast for the headline while evoking a sense of "let's get down to business" feeling.

I LOVE TEXTURE! I used real color and fabric swatches from the sales floor within the design. These particular swatches came from furniture designer Jonathan Louis and can be seen in the background of the ad. Another concern with the previous ad was that the word FREE was over emphasized. With my approach I was able to balance out the headline and not only highlight that the service is free but put a heavier focus on DESIGN by using a nice script font. 

Overall, the project took about a week to make and the ad is currently being printed and sent out to our eight stores throughout Southern California. The roll-out will begin next week. I'm excited to see the ad in the stores and I hope it will lead to many happy customers leaving Living Spaces with professionally designed homes.
